Actually, I just figured I would include the link to my MS 150 page. My goal is $1000 and right now I’m at $200, and I have about a month and a half left to reach my goal.
In case you have never heard of this cause, the MS150 is a yearly bike ride (180 miles, from Houston to Austin, TX) which raises money for multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is an auto-immune disease which attacks the outer coating of the spinal cord, resulting in loss of muscle control, vision, and balance. It also attacks the brain. When I was in college, I worked for a Financial Advisor who had MS and have seen it progress in my short time with her. The MS150 raises close to $15 MILLION for MS research each year, and it’s really a great experience all around. 5 years ago, treatments for MS included shots every day or few days. Just in the last couple years, research has allowed treatment in the form of an oral pill, significantly bettering the lives of those living with this terrible disease…. Just imagine what the possibilities are with continued research and development of better drugs or medical discoveries. That’s why I ride for MS.
If every follower I have on this blog donated just $1, I would raise $350. If everyone donated $5, that would be $1750 straight to the MS society. So for less than the cost of fast food or a bottled water, the dollar impact could be substantial.
I know that a lot of you don’t know me personally. But please, check out my page – it is hosted on the official MS Society website, so I never even touch the money. Read my little story and consider donating or getting involved if you are in Texas. Thank you!!
