I’ll admit it. I’m pretty addicted to Pinterest, There are some silly things on there, but there are some really useful “pins” as well – namely DIYs, home decorating/organization tips, and recipes galore. If you’re on a certain diet (or shall we say, eating lifestyle) such as paleo, Pinterest is a gold mine.
My boyfriend pokes fun at my nights spent with a glass of wine and Pinterest. And honestly, it really is fun to me no matter how cliché or seemingly anti-feminist the site is.
On the flip side, it seems like tons of people (mostly guys) spend plenty of time on Reddit. I know it’s not a site focused on only guys, but I think it is more popular with guys vs. girls, and to be honest I can’t figure out what makes it so addicting. To me, Reddit seems very raw and unformatted, with stupid pictures and people “trolling” one another’s posts. At least pinterest inspires/teaches me to DO things!
Boyfriend claims that Reddit has these features as well, if you look in the right places. I haven’t seen proof yet. Haha.
Can someone please explain how on earth Reddit can be a value-adding website? Or do you agree with me that it’s solely for entertainment?
