Progress is Powerful

So I’ve been on the verge of posting many times lately, but it seems like I just haven’t known where to start.  I decided to just post what’s on my mind today and a little bit about the progress I’ve made lately.

First of all, I am proud to say that I have “gotten” kipping pull-ups finally.  I “celebrated” this week with good ole’ Cindy.  Unfortunately, my hands are torn so badly that I’m not sure I can grip a bar without cringing.  Regardless, I am SO happy I can say goodbye to those pesky bands!  Now only heavy snatches and muscle ups seem to stand in my way of doing any workout RX 🙂

I will say that I have become aware of my physical progress, as well.  Although the number on the scale stays fairly consistent, I have DEFINITELY toned up and I have real muscles!  Before CrossFit, I was heavy cardio.  But just in the 5 1/2 months (wow time flies!) I’ve been crossfitting, I have seen amazing results.  I think the most motivating factor is that ITS FUN!  Even when I feel like I’m going to die (usually from heat stroke – I live in Texas and our box is like an oven on top of 100 degree weather), I still push through due to the overwhelming support of my coaches and fellow members!  It really is like one big family.

Like I said before, I don’t really have any format for this post.  I guess I just wanted to brag about my pull-ups.  I mean I could already do strict, but only one or two at a time, and now that I have the kip it is feasible to do them in WODs.  Oh yeah, another surprise to me is that I did 5×3 rounds of 90lbs on push press yesterday.  Yay!

Cheers y’all.
